Hydropower pipeline capacity in Europe 2024, by status and region

As of April 2024, the capacity of hydropower facilities under construction in Europe amounted to roughly 4.2 gigawatts. Eastern European countries accounted for the largest share of this capacity, with 1.6 gigawatts. Europe had also 17 gigawatts of hydropower plants in the pre-construction stage, and 10 additional gigawatts had been announced.
