Canopy architecture is critical in determining the light interception and distribution, and subsequently the photosynthetic efficiency and productivity. However, the molecular mechanisms by which pear canopy architectural traits impact on photosynthesis remain poorly understood. Herein, comparative transcriptomic analyses in relation to photosynthesis were evaluated in pear under distinct training systems. Leaf samples from interior part of the canopy under distinct training systems (freestanding system and flat-type trellis system ) were collected with three biological replicates at three important growth stages, i.e., 45 DAF (day after flowering ), 75 DAF and 105 DAF.
