Dataset from: Beyond Income: Population Aging as the Primary Driver of Hospital Bed Capacity — A Multivariate Cross-National Analysis of 128 Countries and Its Implications for Universal Health Coverage (SDG 3.8) This dataset accompanies a cross-national study examining the relationship between GDP per capita and hospital bed density across 128 countries (2018 cross-section), and its extension into a multivariate model on a complete-case sample of 123 countries. Contents:- Research_Raw_Data.xlsx: The core dataset (GDP per capita, PPP, 2018; hospital beds per 1,000 population, 2018) for 128 countries, four control variables (health expenditure share of GDP, 2021; population aged 65+, 2024; urban population share, 2024; government effectiveness, 2024) for the same countries, and the merged complete-case dataset (N = 123) used in the multivariate regression. Includes a live-formula summary statistics sheet.- Python analysis code (01_bivariate_analysis.py, 02_multivariate_analysis.py): The exact scripts used to compute all descriptive statistics, correlations, OLS regressions, variance inflation factors, and to generate all figures reported in the associated manuscript.
