Our group works on the understanding of insect-bacteria symbiosis from an evolutionary and systemic perspective. We intend to determine the molecular factors involved in the establishment of bacterial communities with several degrees of complexity living in symbiosis with insects. Tremblaya princeps presents an unusual nested endosymbiosis, and harbors a gamma-proteobacteria symbiont within its cytoplasm in all analyzed mealybugs.
