RNA-seq data of Erythromycin-treated and Control time points of Neonate Horses

Anhidrosis can be temporarily induced by administration of macrolide, an antibiotic drug family utilized to treat foals with Rhodococcus equi pneumonia. A decrease in thermoregulatory sweat response leading to hyperthermia is an occasionally fatal side-effect of this treatment. We utilized skin biopsies acquired from six foals before, during, and after treatment with the macrolide erythromycin to evaluate differential gene expression. Data acquired from this research will improve understanding of the etiology of macrolide-induced anhidrosis.
