Reanalysis vs IDEAM - HOMER - La Guajira (2022)

Datasets for assessing the performance of MERRA2 and ERA5-Land solar radiation, temperature, and wind speed products compared to ground measurements; and their impact on the optimal preliminary configuration of a renewable power system for a desalting plant in La Guajira, Colombia. The Homer Pro Microgrid Analysis was used to determine the optimal configurations of the renewable energy-based power systems and to conduct a sensitivity analysis on annual capacity shortage (ACS), working hours, and energy requirements for desalting.
