Rosa persica is the only species in the subgenus Rosa moniliformis of the Rosaceae family, with yellow petals and crimson fan-shaped spots at the base, which has high ornamental value. In China, Rosa persica is only found in some areas north of Tianshan Mountain in Xinjiang, and it has excellent biological characteristics such as drought resistance, cold resistance, salinity resistance and barrenness resistance, which makes it a valuable germplasm resource for cultivating plants of the genus Rosa persica with beautiful flower color and excellent resistance. At present, the physiological response mechanism of Rosa persica during overwintering is not clear. Therefore, in this study, we used the root and stem tissues of Rosa persica in eight months during the natural open field overwintering period as the materials, and explored the mechanism of cold tolerance in different overwintering periods of Rosa persica based on the transcriptomic data of Rosa persica in the natural open field overwintering period, and mined out the key cold-tolerant genes, in order to provide physiological and molecular biological basis for the cold-tolerant breeding of Rosa persica plants.
