资源简介:
The study employed a cross-sectional design and was carried out in major urban areas across all seven provinces of Nepal. A total of 1,514 individuals between the ages of 18 and 70, who identified as smokers, were surveyed through structured interviews. These interviews were conducted by trained enumerators who obtained informed consent from each participant. To maintain an unbiased sample, individuals involved in market research were excluded during the screening process. The main aim of the survey was to explore several aspects, including participants’ smoking history, quitting attempts, awareness of the health risks linked to smoking, perceptions of harm reduction products, attitudes toward vaping and e-cigarettes, knowledge of tobacco regulations, and the key factors that influence whether a smoker chooses to continue, quit, or switch to alternatives.
Note: This research was funded by Global Action to End Smoking (previously known as the Foundation for a Smoke-Free World), an independent nonprofit grant-making organization based in the United States [grant number W4-015].
