智慧林业系统综合运用“3S”技术、计算机网络和现代通讯等高新技术和手段，实现集声音、图像、报警、定位信息的全天候、全方位、网络化的远程高清晰度的实时管控系统。系统建成后将有效减轻林区工作人员的工作强度，进一步提高护林工作效率，推动森林管护工作由单一依靠人防向人防和技防结合、以技防为主的改革，进一步提高森林管护成效、保证森林资源安全。

The Smart Forestry System comprehensively utilizes high-tech means including 3S technologies, computer networks and modern communications, to build a 24/7, all-directional, networked remote real-time monitoring and control system with high-definition performance that integrates audio, image, alarm and positioning information. Upon completion, this system will effectively alleviate the work intensity of forestry staff in forest regions, further enhance the efficiency of forest protection work, promote the reform of forest management and protection from relying solely on manual patrols to a hybrid model combining manual patrols and technical prevention with the latter as the mainstay, and further improve the effectiveness of forest management and protection while guaranteeing the safety of forest resources.
