Genomic variation of European beech (Fagus sylvatica) across its distribution range

Local adaptation is key for ecotypic differentiation and species evolution. Understanding underlying genomic patterns can allow the prediction of future maladaptation and ecosystem stability. Using a common garden comprising European beech (Fagus sylvatica) trees from 100 populations across the distribution range we assess genotype-environment and genotype-phenotype associations. These analyses may contribute to forest conservation under climate change.
