Effects of submaximal training on the gut microbiota of forage only horses

This dataset contains paired-end 16S rRNA (V4 region) sequences from fecal samples collected from horses subjected to a six-week submaximal endurance training program (SETP) and respective control animals maintained on a forage-only diet. Samples were collected at three timepoints: pre-training (Submax), post-training (Week7), and after 30 days of recovery (Trev30). Sequencing was performed on an Illumina MiSeq platform (2x150 bp), and data were processed using QIIME2 v2023.7 with DADA2 denoising and taxonomic classification using the SILVA 138.1 database.
