18S rRNA metabarcoding dataset generated from community DNA in Arctic marine sediments

This study assess how different bioinformatics algorithms (OTUs: UCLUST and VSearch; AVSs: DADA2 and Deblur) and dataset complexity (HC: high complexity; LC: low complexity) may impact the statistical trends and ecological metrics in 18S rRNA metabarcoding studies. The 18S rRNA (V1-V2 region) gene was amplified and sequenced on the Illumina MiSeq platform (2x300). Finally, this study aimed to provide community recommendations for best practices in designing and executing eukaryotic 18S rRNA metabarcoding studies.
