VPRS 19239 Administrative Instructions and Memoranda including Index

This series comprises volumes detailing The Royal Melbourne Hospital’s (VA 1048) administrative policies, procedures, organisational changes and events facilitated by the hospital. The records in this series served as the official operating guidelines and instructions on activities, issues or work routines prior to the development of specific formalised policy and procedure manuals. These instructions were issued on an as-needed basis as a memorandum to staff, rather than being consolidated in a published manual. Some overlap in the time period covered by each volume occurred. Included in the series is an index to the instructions, covering the period of 1944-1964. Prior to transfer to Public Record Office Victoria, the records in this series were maintained as part of the Royal Melbourne Hospital Archives.
