opportunistic pathogen Tsukamurella inchonensis strain

Tsukamurella spp. are Gram-positive, weakly acid-fast bacilli bacterium which belonging to the Actinomycetes family. The organism share many common features with Corynebacterium, Rhodococcus, Nocardia and some nontuberculous mycobacteria species, so molecular methods are required for the Tsukamurella genus identification. Tsukamurella can be isolated from soil, arthropods, water, sludge foam and sponges . As an opportunistic pathogens for humans, they can be spread through clinical instruments and invade the immunocompromised patients.
