Our project focuses on establishing genomic and metabolic features of high-value bacterial strains from selected saline ecosystems in Tanzania. We fished out the Limnospira sp. draft genome from a metagenome of an intriguing conglomerate of halophiles from the saline Big Momela Lake (unpublished ongoing work) and mapped it against the genome of Arthrospira sp str. PCC 8005 (Accession number FO818640.1). We then annotated the consensus output to establish the draft genomic and possible metabolic features.
