Shot gun sequencing of genomes of Iberian freshwater fish species

We produced a reference database of whole genome sequences of freshwater fish species from Portuguese rivers. We also included some species from other European countries. This database was made to serve as reference for eDNA metagenomic studies focusing on Portuguese fish taxa. To this end, genomes were sequenced with an average depth of 20 x using paired end Illumina sequencing (2 x 150 bp) and assembled with the program Abyss.
