Processed series and analysis scripts: Three decades of forest resources and carbon sink changes under China's Natural Forest Protection Program in Gansu Province

Processed validation series, spot-level GEDI/SAR samples and analysis scripts accompanying the manuscript "How did China's Natural Forest Protection Program reshape forest resources in an arid province?" (Ecological Indicators). Includes: two-factor LMDI decomposition re-derivation (V1); synthetic-control weight-space sampling (V3); sup-F breakpoint bootstrap distribution (V4); rolling-origin backtest (V5); GEDI regional zonal statistics; GEDI forest footprints within Gansu; SAR-GEDI spot-level paired samples. All values are aggregated or footprint-level remote-sensing derivatives; no unpublished field-survey plot records are included. Version 2 (2026-10-29): adds the scripts and validation series for the breakpoint-dating sensitivity analysis (Section 3.10), the extended 1982–2020 GIMMS-3G+ NDVI extraction with 2012–2013 bridge check (Section 2.5) and the MERRA-2/PREC/L climatic pathway (Section 2.5, Fig. S2), as referenced in the manuscript Data availability statement.
