Aerial Seabirds West Africa

This dataset contains high-resolution aerial RGB imagery obtained from a census of breeding seabirds in West Africa in 2019. The data was collected as part of a census of breeding seabirds along the West African coast where UAVs were used to map colonies. The dataset consists of an orthomosaic covering a sandy island with colonies of the focal species breeding royal terns (<i>Thalasseus maximus albididorsalis</i>), Caspian terns (Hydroprogne caspia) and gray-headed gulls (<i>Chroicocephalus cirrocephalus</i>).<br/></br>The orthomosaic also contains great cormorants (<i>Phalacrocorax carbo</i>), great white pelicans (<i>Pelecanus onocrotalus</i>), slender-billed gulls (<i>Chroicocephalus genei</i>), and a number of birds that could not be identified. The individual birds are identified with point annotations, totaling 21,516 annotations.
