This dataset presents a comprehensive cotton disease dataset comprising 14 classes, including two healthy categories\u2014healthy leaf and healthy cotton boll\u2014and 12 major diseases, namely Wilt, Bacterial Blight, Leaf Hopper (Jassids), Curl Virus, Aphids, Cotton Boll Rot, Fall Armyworm, Powdery Mildew, Leaf Reddening, Leaf Variegation, Herbicide Leaf Damage, and Target Spot, enriched with additional domain-specific information relevant to Indian agricultural contexts. The given dataset incorporates extensive annotations of disease symptoms, favorable conditions of occurrence, control as preventive practices, and physical and biological controls, along with chemical controls (with references for dosage), including pesticides, fungicides, and bactericides. The information was systematically curated from a number of reputable sources online, such as public and private agriculture sites and government websites, to capture reliable and actionable information. This dataset is among the few that provide India-centric textual knowledge on cotton disease management practices. Developed with the aim to aid data-driven precision farming initiatives in India, it delineates the entire pipeline of data collection, preprocessing, validation, and public dissemination. As an openly accessible publication, it fulfils a vital dual function as both a necessary, field-conducive guide to agricultural practice and an organized research tool for agronomists, data scientists, and plant pathologists formulating innovative crop protection methods.
