Replicative senescence is characterized by telomere shortening and DNA damage response activation at telomeres. Here we set to establish the genome-wide activation of DNA damage response by doing native ChIP sequencing of the gamma H2A.X (phospho S139) protein in young (population doubling 26) and fully senescent MRC-5 primary fibroblast cells (population doubling 67).
