Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris (XCC), the causal agent of black rot, is one of the most devastating diseases for cruciferous crops and brought about considerable production losses worldwide. We for the first time present here the complete genome sequence of strain 3811 , race 1 of Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris. The 3811 genome was 5,072,566 bp in length, with GC content of 65.1% and 4,659 coding genes. The genomic data will contribute to our knowledge of XCC genomic diversity, and provides evidence for XCC-host interaction as well as for prevention of this disease.
