Preliminary assessment of adjuvant activities of Glycine Max (L.) Merr saponin extract in BALB/c mice immunized with hepatitis B virus vaccine

Alternative hypothesis: saponins from Glycine max (L). Merr have an adjuvant activity when in BALB/c mice immunized with Hepatitis B virus vaccine. Findings: the saponin extracts did not have significant adjuvant effect on the immune system of the BALB/c mice. Immunization with the vaccine suppressed the expression levels of IL-6 gene, while promoting the expression of the TNF gene.
