Ongoing global warming and cryosphere degradation have raised concerns regarding adaptation to the instability of mountainous environments. In recent decades, glacier-related slope failures such as ice avalanches and rock avalanches on glaciers have been frequently documented. In this study, we compiled a global inventory of glacier-related landslides to investigate their distribution, trends, rupture characteristics, and associations with climate change. A total of 737 glacier-related landslide events were recorded between 1901 and 2019, including 156 ice avalanches, 89 ice-rock avalanches, 26 glacier slumps, and 466 rock avalanches on glaciers. The North Pacific region has the largest number of documented cases (N=440, 60%), with rock avalanches on glaciers being the dominant type. Additionally, we integrated and improved currently published regional and global inventories of glacial lake outburst floods (GLOFs), and separately extracted moraine-dammed lake outburst flood events. A total of 380 moraine-dammed lake outburst flood events were recorded between 1901 and 2020, making this the most comprehensive global inventory currently available.
