Salmonella Typhimurium ST313 strain D23580_liv2

This is a slightly updated version of the genome sequence for the African ST313 Salmonella Typhimurium strain D23580, designated D23580_liv2. There is only a 6 nucleotide difference between D23580_liv2 and version 1 (named D23580_liv; GCA_900538085.1). D23580_liv contained 9 copies of the GGGCAA repeat at the variable STTR6 locus (see PMID: 19371515 and 24957617). Following resequencing with Illumina technology, we recently established that the D23580 isolate stored at the University of Liverpool, and at the NCTC culture collection (NCTC 14677) has 10 copies of the GGGCAA repeat at location 2,755,253 - 2,755,312.
