资源简介:
This dataset presents quality-controlled, near-real-time observations collected by three Teledyne Webb Slocum G2 shallow ocean gliders (serial numbers 480, 481, and 482) deployed in the Western English Channel, UK, from August to September 2024. These observations were part of the Synchronising Earth Observation, In-situ, and Modelling Frameworks Towards a Digital Twin Ocean (SyncED-Ocean) project, funded by the NERC TWINE grant NE/Z50337X/1. SyncED-Ocean aims to create a digital twin of a coastal ocean ecosystem by integrating optimised Earth Observation data, marine autonomous systems, and adaptive connectivity to improve the predictive capabilities of marine ecosystem models. All units had maximum operating depths of 200 meters and were equipped with a Sea-Bird Glider Payload CTD package for temperature and conductivity measurements, an Aanderaa oxygen optode, and a Sea-Bird SeaOWL optical sensor. Data were transmitted in near-real-time via Iridium, with processed, quality controlled science fields marked _ with the suffix _ADJUSTED. Each processed variable includes a quality control (QC) flag, based on a series of validation tests, to assess data quality.
