The study was aimed to investigate the characteristics of gut microbiota in patients with DPN and the role of gut microbiota in the development of DPN. We recruited 27 patients with DPN and collected their stool samples for amplicon sequencing. Afterwards, fecal samples from DPN patients were processed and transferred into the germ-free mice, and fecal samples from mice were also collected for amplicon sequencing.
