European Parliament Commission Meetings: A Comprehensive and Monitored Dataset

This study extracts information from meetings organized by European parliamentarians who have disclosed their meeting details on the European Parliament's transparency website. The database comprises 526 parliamentarians out of the total 705 in the European Parliament, encompassing meetings held from 2019 to 2023 and totaling 86,624 unique sessions. The observations are categorized based on each published meeting and their corresponding mandatory characteristics. The dataset is automatically monitored every month, resulting in a different version for each month. This provides various perspectives to analyze different variables over time. We have incorporated a unique dataset containing all the distinct meetings held between 2019 and 2023. A codebook has been added to describe all the available variables for each observation, providing a summary of the variables within each dataset. 1. Side A: Name and surname of the MEP who held the meeting 2. European Political Party:The European Political Party adscribed in the moment of the meeting. 3. National Political Party:The National Political Party of the MEP. 4. MEP born Country: It represents the country of origin for the MEP. 5. MEP born Date: The MEP's date of birth. 6. Number of meeting's: Number of the meeting held in order of the last meeting held, i.e. the last meeting always is gonna bee the number 1 7. Link of MEP: URL from which all the information from each of the meetings has been extracted 8.Title of the Meet:The subject established for the meeting 9. Capacity: The responsability of the MEP in the committe table 10. Committe: The committee in which the MEP is a member 11. Side B: Name or names of the individuals or groups that meet with the MEPs 12. Location: The location or medium where the meeting has been held without codification, as established in the meeting's characteristics. 13. Date: The date on which the meeting was held. NOTE:Please note that when considering the unified dataset, it is important to acknowledge that many meetings may appear to be 'duplicated,' but variations exist in some of the information related to one of the variables. This approach allows for an investigation into potential changes over time.
