Extreme Sea Level Inundation Maps for Vanuatu
收藏资源简介:
ESL inundation maps for Vanuatu provinces. ESL inundation is mapped for inhabited islands by (i) calculating extreme total water levels for annual recurrence intervals (ARI) 5-, 10-, 25-, 50-, 100-, and 250-years, (ii) digitizing island or atoll rim boundaries, (iii) developing a composite topographical dataset comprised of Airborne Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) and Forest And Building removed DEM (FABDEM), and (iv) executing a scalable static inundation model to map land inundation areas for 0.1 m SLR increments. Inundation extent and water depth above ground in meters were calculated and mapped for islands and atolls. s. This dataset supports coastal inundation hazard exposure and risk assessment in Vanuatu under present-day and future sea-level rise scenarios, which can help to inform island-level and national-scale climate adaptation and coastal resilience planning.
