Characterization of gut microbiota in rat models of Obesity and Type 2 Diabetes

Obesity and Type 2 Diabetes are major, global health threats. These conditions are associated with changes in the microbial communities that occupy the host gut. We are seeking associations behind such changes and their contributions to disease aetiology in a rat models of the conditions. We are characterising the taxonomy and metabolic potential of the communities based on 16 S rDNA sequencing.
