Genomic Sequences and Ecological Data for Arisaema Species on Shikoku Island, Japan

The data deposited here support the analyses presented in: Scholten, J. & Specht, C.D. 2026. Does Size Matter? The integrated roles of light, adaptive sex expression, and hybridization in a widespread Arisaema (Araceae) species from western Japan. Plant Ecology and Evolution 159. The repository includes (1) a complete data matrix used in the logistic regression analyses, containing individual-level measurements of sex expression, plant height, pseudostem diameter, light intensity, and species identity; (2) raw illumina sequence data collected for each individual included in the molecular analyses; and (3) the filtered VCF file generated from genotyping-by-sequencing, retaining both homozygous and heterozygous genotypes and used for phylogenetic reconstruction and exploratory introgression analyses (D-statistics and f-branch). Together, these files allow full reproducibility of the ecological, statistical, and genomic components of the study and provide a foundation for reanalysis or comparative work on sex expression plasticity and hybridization in forest understory plants.
