Development of a sample containing mixed microbial DNA in a background of human DNA is necessary for standardization of next generation sequencing applications, especially those undergoing U.S. Federal Drug Administration review. Using a combination of existing and in-development NIST reference materials, we generated samples of known composition (targeting an eqi-genome distribution and a dilution series) and sequenced them on the Illumina MiSeq platform. This data can be analyzed using existing and custom-developed pipelines in order to identify characteristic strengths and weaknesses of these different sample types, similarity to existing reference data from the un-mixed samples, and eventually to compare against other sequencing platforms.*****THIS IS NOT REFERENCE DATA*****No assurances for any property values are made or implied.
