Vegetation data for New York City Forested Natural Areas, field collected 2013-2014 across 53 city parks.

Data includes forest structure including trees per hectare, basal area, and species richness across vegetation structural layers for 10 meter radius fixed area plots. This project was conducted by the Natural Areas Conservancy as part of a baseline assessment of forest condition in New York City Parks. The purpose of this data-set is to better understand and characterize the conditions of forested natural areas in New York City but also to inform management. This was compared to Forest Inventory Analysis data for New York State.
