The non-ferrous metal spot price index series is developed based on the core methodology of the non-ferrous metal spot price index formulated by the Shanghai Non-Ferrous Metals Trading Center. It selects six foundational non-ferrous metal varieties with the widest domestic circulation and highest trading activity, and is compiled using daily spot price data collected via inquiries from leading enterprises across the domestic upstream, midstream and downstream sectors as well as traders. The series has been reviewed by an expert committee, and comprehensively and objectively reflects the overall market situation and general price trends of the non-ferrous metal spot market in major domestic consumption areas.
