This repository contains the procedural code used in the research presented in the paper titled "Identifying Key Regions Where Vapor Pressure Deficit Dominates Drought Intensification."The code supports the complete analytical workflow of the study, enabling the replication of our process for identifying global regions where atmospheric aridity (vapor pressure deficit, VPD) is a primary driver of drought intensification. All scripts are functional in both R and Python.Key Contents:Data Preprocessing: Code for handling and standardizing climate and hydrological datasets (e.g., ERA5, GRACE).Drought Indicator Calculation: Scripts to compute relevant drought metrics, including VPD-based and other hydro-meteorological indices.Statistical Analysis & Dominance Detection: Core algorithms for trend analysis, correlation, and identifying regions where VPD trends dominate other factors in drought dynamics.Visualization: Code for generating the maps, time-series plots, and statistical figures used in the manuscript.Purpose: This repository aims to ensure the reproducibility and transparency of our research.
