Solanum pimpinellifolium cultivar:LA1589 Genome sequencing and assembly

Wild species have commonly been used as a source for disease resistance and quality improvement in most crops. Solanum pimpinellifolium, the most closely related wild species of tomato, has high breeding potential for use in breeding programs aimed at developing multi-pathogen resistance and quality improvement. In this study, we assembled a high-quality and well-annotated chromosome-level genome for S. pimpinellifolium LA1589. The annotated genome sequence serves as a fundamental genetic resource for studying functional genomics.
