Empirical Dataset for Mock-Based Software-Pipeline Evaluation of a Decay-Entropy System

This archive contains the empirical dataset used for the mock-based software-pipelineevaluation in Christian Ammann's bachelor thesis "Engineering Application ProgrammingInterfaces for Decay-based High Entropy Sources" (TU Wien, 2026). The primary snapshot (2026-04-26T171926Z) was collected from the deployed entropy APIat https://api.decay-entropy-stream.com using collect-empirical-data.sh(scriptVersion 1.0.0). The data were gathered by the entropy-processor service(https://github.com/AmmannChristian/entropy-processor). The entropy input driving thepipeline during the collection period was produced by entropy-publisher-mock(https://github.com/AmmannChristian/entropy-publisher-mock), a synthetic TDC timestamppublisher. The dataset therefore documents the behaviour of the implemented softwarepipeline under mock-publisher input. It does not constitute a completed physicalend-to-end validation of the Strontium-90 entropy source; the physical Sr-90scintillation detector was not operational during the thesis period. API fieldslabelled HARDWARE or TDC refer to the mock-fed TDC software path. The archive supports the following thesis results (Sections 4.5 and 6.1): - SP 800-22 hourly validation: 32,085,248 bits, 14/15 tests passed (93.3 %)- SP 800-90B assessment summaries: 7 assessments, single-sample min-entropy 7.23–7.39 bits/byte- Comparison study: runs 76–85 across three source modes (BASELINE, HARDWARE, MIXED)- Event-rate statistics: 125,068 events, mean rate 34.74 Hz, CoV ≈ 1.00- Shannon, Rényi, sample entropy, and min-entropy API outputs- Binary entropy endpoint smoke samples (32–4096 bytes) Collection summary: 141 OK / 1 FAIL / 0 SKIP across 142 endpoints. The single failedendpoint (system-config.error) is not used in any thesis evaluation table.
