This directory contains monthly analyzed subsurface temperature at the
depths of 100m, 200m and 400m from January 1990 to the latest month for
each 0.25 degree latitudinal and longitudinal squares for the region from
121E to 161E between 24N and 48N. The monthly subsurface temperatures
around Japan are analyzed at the Oceanographical Division of the JMA based
on subsurface temperature observation by research vessels, voluntary
observing ships, ocean data buoys and subsurface floats, which are mainly
obtained through Global Telecommunication System (GTS) of the WMO.
