Identification of the true causative bacteria of lymphocele infection.

Lymphoceles may occur after lymph node dissection in the treatment of gynecological malignancies. By themselves, they have little pathogenicy, but occasionally they become abscesses. In general, the causative organism of pelvic abscesses may be difficult to detect by usual culture tests, since culture specimens may be obtained after treatment has begun. Lymphocele infections as well have never been studied about the true causative organisms. Recent innovative genome sequencing technology called next-generation sequencing (NGS) has made it possible to analyze the bacterial flora using 16S ribosomal DNA. The purpose of this project is to identify the true causative organisms of lymphocele infection after treatment of gynecological malignancies and to gain knowledge that will serve as the basis for new prevention and treatment strategies.
