In our study, 21 bacterial isolates were obtained from black pepper roots and 95% were able to solubilize phosphate, 33% were positive for ACC deaminase activity, and 19% were positive for the nifH gene. Three isolates affiliated to the Kosakonia genus were positive in all three assays. Thus, these bacteria showed potential to be used in the formulation of biofertilizers and, therefore, are an excellent alternative to reduce the environmental risks caused by the inappropriate use of chemical fertilizers. The most promising isolate was K. pseudosacchari Pn16. Several key genes found in other PGPB genomes were detected, including genes involved in IAA production, siderophores, antibiotic resistance, EPS production, bioactive compounds, biosurfactants, among others. The results of this study help in the formulation of innovative products from the microbial diversity of the Amazonia, in order to strengthen the ever-growing commodity market using bioeconomy ideas.
