Next generating sequencing data for Arapaima gigas

These study correspond to the functional genomics data using next generation methods of RNA-seq and miRNA-seq for specie Arapaima gigas, the largest freshwater bony fish in the world, being found in rivers from the Amazon region without sex dimorphism. The goal of this report was to identify sexually dimorphic genes in juveniles of A. gigas, as a tool to the early sex identification. In addition, the present project identifies and characterizes the microRNAs of A. gigas, with the objective of contributing to the understanding of gene expression in this important Amazonian species.
