This series consists of the Royal Newcastle Hospital’s official Manual of Administrative Procedures, in two volumes, issued in 1960. These volumes are in a loose-leaf format, designed to permit the insertion of additional matter from time to time as appropriate, but this record copy appears to be as originally issued. Contents include a copy of the By-Laws, an account of the Hospital’s administrative structure, instructions for the running of the various departments of the Hospital and for such matters as, inter alia, the admission of patients, the keeping of medical records and the control of drugs, and, in the second volume, copies of standard forms and illustrative photographs. The Manual was prepared under the direction of Dr C.J. McCaffrey, Medical Superintendent and CEO of the Hospital.
