Percent Hardened Shoreline in Maryland

This will open a new page that features a download button.</i></b></p> <p><b>Open the Map Service:</b> <a href='https://gis.chesapeakebay.net/ags/rest/services/LandResources/MD_prct_hardened/MapServer' rel='nofollow ugc'>https://gis.chesapeakebay.net/ags/rest/services/LandResources/MD_prct_hardened/MapServer</a></p> <p>This shoreline condition data is generated by calculating the percentage hardened shoreline by every 1000m using data from the <a href='https://www.vims.edu/ccrm/research/inventory/maryland/' rel='nofollow ugc'>Maryland Shoreline Inventory</a>. The armoring structures included in the percentage hardened shoreline calculation include Bulkhead, Debris, Dilapidated Bulkhead, Marina, Riprap, Unconventional and Wharf.</p> <p>Shoreline Situation Reports were first generated by the Virginia Institute of Marine Science in the 1970s to report the condition and status of shore lands. These reports were intended to assist planners, managers and regulators in decisions pertaining to the management of coastal areas and natural resources therein. Data collected describes conditions in the immediate riparian zone, the bank and along the shore.</p>
