Replication Data for: Who Breaks Through? Media Storms and the Endurance of Politicians' Visibility

This dataset contains the replication materials for a study examining whether media storms—periods of unusually concentrated news attention—create durable changes in political visibility. The data include actor–storm–week panels derived from U.S. news coverage between 1996 and 2016, matched treatment–control pairs used in difference-in-differences analyses, and auxiliary files supporting rank-based hierarchy analyses. The dataset is intended to support transparency and reproducibility of the analyses reported in the associated manuscript.
