NRS-17486 | Town Clerk reports [Grafton City Council]

The Temporary Council for the Municipality of Grafton was proclaimed on 20 July, 1859 in the NSW Government Gazette under the Municipalities Act of 1858. (1) This series contains the reports of the Town Clerk which were issued to the Grafton Municipal Council. The Reports were created at least monthly and recorded chronologically in bound volumes. They covered a wide range of issues, including staffing, roads and street lighting, maintenance, parks, finances, rates, waste disposal, sanitary and sewerage as well as financial estimates. The volumes were leatherbound until the end of 1950 when they had cardboard covers.Custody History These files were in the custody of Clarence Valley Council until 18 August 2005 when they were transferred to the University of New England and Regional Archives.Endnote1.
