VPRS 6282 Commonwealth Case Files

This series consists of case files from Commonwealth cases held in the Moe Courts. Commonwealth cases are matters brought to court under Commonwealth legislation, including taxation, electoral, wireless and national service legislation.The Commonwealth case files typically contain warrants and summonses pertaining to Commonwealth offences. Information contained within the records are defendants name, address, age etc, details of the offence, name and occupation of informant, details of any prior convictions and the cost of the warrant of summons is also recorded. Only a small aggregate of these case files have a conviction recorded. These tend to be files that are more substantial in content than others. Those case files that are applications for exemption from National Service all have final decisions recorded.
