This dataset comprises diurnal variation data extracted from the original geomagnetic observation records collected at the Coimbra Magnetic Observatory in Portugal between 2007 and 2017. The data subsets IQD Sq and SD were generated by calculating the S-type variation as the daily average using geomagnetically quiet days, whereas the PCA mode data subset was derived by decomposing the original time series into dominant variation patterns via Principal Component Analysis (PCA).
