Images and Site Records from Archaeological Monitoring and Recording at Hilltown Farm, Warkleigh, North Devon, Devon, 2019

This collection comprises images and site records from archaeological monitoring and recording carried out by South West Archaeology Ltd. (SWARCH) during groundworks for the erection of a replacement dwelling at Hilltown Farm, Warkleigh, North Devon, Devon. The site is located in an area of known archaeological potential, with a background of prehistoric activity within the wider landscape. A 17th century farmhouse stood on the site of the proposed development until 2017 and it is suggested that this farmhouse replaced an earlier, possibly medieval, farmhouse that was set within a wider medieval agricultural landscape.
