Long-term monitoring of incidental natural history information about Fox dens on Akimiski Island, Nunavut

Purpose: We have monitored Canada goose and snow goose reproductive success since 1993 and Semipalmated Plover success since 2002. Red and Arctic foxes are one of the primary egg predators. Understanding how many and where the foxes are located contributes to estimation of predation pressure and its varying influence on goose and shorebird success. This project also wanted to determine if there are trends in the abundance and distribution of fox on Akimiski Island in Nunavut.
