Diversity profiling of pulp and seed kernel associated endophytic microbiome in different varieties of Mango (Mangifera indica L)

This study investigates the diversity of endophytic microbiomes inhabiting the pulp and seed kernels of eight mango (Mangifera indica L.) varieties: Alphonso, Amrapali, Arka Anmol, Arka Suprabhat, Arka Udaya, Banganapalle, Neelam, and Totapuri. Using 16S rRNA and ITS metagenomic sequencing, the research aims to profile bacterial and fungal communities to explore their potential contributions to fruit quality, nutritional attributes, and postharvest traits. The insights gained from this study can help elucidate the functional roles of endophytic microorganisms in mango fruit characteristics and their implications for crop improvement and sustainable agriculture.
