SureSelect targeted genome sequencing was carried out, using Anopheles funestus (sensu stricto) mosquitoes. Mosquitoes used in the study were from the fully insecticide susceptible FANG colony. 10 FANG colony mosquitoes were sequenced. Total genomic DNA was extracted from individual mosquitoes using the QIAgen DNeasy Blood and Tissue kit (Qiagen, Hilden, Germany), according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Extracted genomic DNA was used to generate sequencing libraries using a SureSelect custom array targeting (primarily) detoxification-associated candidate gene families and loci. Libraries were sequenced on a MiSeq (Illumina) at 2x150 bp paired-end sequencing with v4 chemistry.
